Wildflowers of Tubbs Hill

Two blocks from downtown Coeur d’Alene (and nine blocks from our cottage) lies an urban wilderness park.

Tubbs Hill is an opportunity to see what spring was like on the ponderosa pine forest floor that covered most of this land. It is unique because the earth has not been extensively disturbed since non-Native Americans arrived in the area.

This was just a brief solo explore as the kids were busy and Steve has a nasty cold. I will be back, armed with the brochure Tubbs Hill Nature Trails.

"I think I like wildflowers best.
They just grow wherever they want.
No one has to plant them.
And then their seeds blow in the wind
and they find a new place to grow."
