Loving Lake Tahoe

During a break in the snow, we headed to the lake's shore to ogle its beauty and remind ourselves of how fortunate we are to have a cabin here.

A big surprise was seeing an Osprey on our side of the lake... a first for me. These beauties are quite amazing birds. Unlike most birds of prey, they actually hover high above the water observing fish. When they hone in on a victim, they drop strait into the water, folded over with their head down near their talons. I wish I could have seen him in action.
Another first for me was seeing one of these guys. It was surprising, too, considering there are an estimated 300 million crawfish living in Lake Tahoe. That’s almost one crawfish for every citizen in the United States. Crawfishing is big here. Wild.
"Time wasted at the lake is time well spent."
🎜Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooh-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time🎝
