SoCal Lightning: Photo by Brady...

It never fails, we are never where the awesome storm is. Last night's, captured by Brady, was an enviable one!

Over the course of 24 hours, nearly 4,000 lightning strikes were detected across Southern California (check out just where on the map below).
The fast-moving storm brought lightning strikes to a huge stretch of Southern California, from the Mexico border to Ventura County. In just Orange, Riverside, and San Diego counties, the National Weather Service said 2,074 in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning strikes were detected. Oh man, and we missed it.

Okay, so we missed the lightning, according to Open Snow, Tahoe might get a little exciting, too. "Increasing winds Tuesday and we begin to cool down through Friday. We could see some rain and high elevation snow showers Wednesday night through Friday. The weekend could be nicer. Then a colder trough next week could bring even colder air with a chance for snow showers." I'm so ready.

It was truly incredible! Lightening bolts in all directions, for hours! I wish it happened more often. I can’t remember seeing anything like it.
