Graffiti on Cave Rock...

I have to preface this post with the declaration that I am very anti graffiti. That said, this image, on the side of the tunnel at Cave Rock, makes us laugh (just a little) every time we see it. It reminds us of childhood Saturday mornings.

For those who don't know who this image is, it is Wile E. Coyote (also known simply as Coyote). He along, with Road Runner, are a duo of characters from a series of Looney Tunes cartoons created by animation director Chuck Jones in 1948 for Warner Bros.
In each episode, instead of animal senses and cunning, Coyote uses absurd contraptions and elaborate plans to pursue his quarry (always Road Runner). These efforts usually have Wile E. ending in a splat. In this particular scenario, Coyote is thwarted because the Road Runner has the ability to run through the fake tunnel (we never questioned his abilities when we were kids).

While the graffitied image from our childhood memories is totally wrong, I still can't help smiling. My hope is for its removal soon. Cave Rock is one of our favorite tunnels.
