Celio Ranch FUNdraiser...
Yesterday on a blustery Fall day, we had FUN for a cause (like we need a reason).
Any occasion where we can mosey about the Celio Ranch (1863) is a good time and this one was extra poignant. Organizers with Tahoe Strong hosted this autumn-themed fundraiser for victims of the Caldor and Tamarack fires. The Christmas Valley Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser proceeds will benefit those who lost their homes in the massive wildfires that burned over 290,000 acres this summer.
It seemed that the entire South Lake Tahoe Community came to offer support.
There was a silent auction and raffle loaded with amazing products and services. This plank had to be the most unique of them all and if I had a place for a twelve foot table, it would be mine. The sign reads, "SILENT AUCTION. I'm a FIRE SURVIVOR, an old growth Jeffrey Pine, cut and milled at the Celio Ranch! BID HIGH!! Support those who have lost everything..."
Jerry and his horse, Dusty, put on a sweet, homespun show.
Dusty has a few tricks up his hooves, from 'playing soccer' to
frolicking on a seesaw.
The crowd was awed including Chris and Jan who came with their dog Daisy. It was truly a family affair.
In addition to several food trucks, face painting and unique vendors, there was the opportunity to make a horseshoe Christmas ornament.
Rocking music made for a great soundtrack of our awesome day.
No Fall Festival is complete without a corn maze (this one with only one stalk cracked us up).
The 'real' maze was a delightful meander through cornstalks with giggling children running past us.
Based on all the fun we witnessed, this event was a huge success. We were happy to help and just so thankful for all those who orchestrated this fundraiser and the firefighters who gave us this chance to celebrate.
