Spoleto Scenes Part 1...

While the day was glorious, Laurie took us on un viaggio attraverso la campagna.

If I can't saunter through the sunflowers, I'm content to ponder in the poppies. Beautiful!
This is one of the amazing properties Laurie and Norma manage. It is a spectacular agriturismo location.

We paused briefly to admire a 2,000 year old, still producing, olive tree. Can you just picture all who benefited from its bounty? This is St. Francis territory- interesting.

Last night, we entered the new (since we were here last) and very awesome, Percorso Meccanizzato Ponzianina-Rocca for a trip toward Spoleto's famous Fortress. More about that on another day. Our purpose was dinner at Ristorante Del Mercato.

I had the best eggplant dish- ever.

e la famiglia non si invecchia!

At the table with good friends
and family you do not become old.

because someday you may want to return,
tracing the way.”

That eggplant dish sure does look amazing. And the portion looks just right. Italian food, in Italy, is my favorite, for sure.
Love the flowers! Love Spoleto!
