Our search today took us to a scenic overlook and I thought this 'hiding spot' was too amazing not to share.
We joked about getting lost while on our hunt. This is from the guidelines, The safety of you and other letterboxers is of upmost importance. While hiding letterboxes, avoid unsafe areas such along a cliff edge or high in a tree that requires climbing to acquire it. That's not to say you cannot hide letterboxes halfway up a cliff that requires rock-climbing skills to acquire—but make sure your clue explains that the letterbox is intended for experienced rock climbers only. If you hide a letterbox in the depths of a complex cave system, make sure your clue explains that the letterbox is only for experienced spelunkers only... http://www.atlasquest.com/

Letterboxing is for everyone then! At least the range of extremes is there--rock climbing to spelunking, and everything in between! who knows, maybe it'll help me push past my fear of heights.
You found the Tahoe Ridge letterbox that my sister Denise carved and planted back in 2008. Your "Denise was here" stamp gave us quite a chill. My sister (Denise) was killed by a drunk driver in 2012, two years before you stamped in! We agree with your comments about the difficulty -- so we are going to have my brother-in-law modify the clues to be simpler and also mention that this is a bit of a climb.
Dear Rob and family,
I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your Denise. There aren't many of us and to lose one so special and so talented makes me sad. With sympathies.
