It's hard to believe that a fire, ~170 miles from here, could fill our basin.  "Smoke from the Rim Fire now affects a broad region from Placerville into the City of South Lake Tahoe. Wind forecast puts Lake Tahoe in direct path of smoke from the fire."

I have never seen Emerald Bay not be some beautiful shade of blue.

All of this is quite unsettling (even though Jenny and I are smiling, while volunteering).  Let's hope for another downpour like Tuesday.
