The Omelette Express, located in historic Railroad Square, has been a Santa Rosa institution for the last 36 years and Brenton's choice for his birthday breakfast.

Railroad Square was honored with a listing on the National Register of
Historic Places because of its preservation efforts for
restoring and preserving the significant architectural buildings that
represent the influence the railroad had on a community. When the
first trains arrived in Railroad Square in the late 1870’s, the focus of
the town turned to the hustle and bustle around the Depot. This is a quaint part of town that demands long strolls and window shopping. |

This is just a half of my tasty omelet, I shared with Steve. |

After our delicious breakfast, we had to say our goodbyes. It was a wonderful weekend of celebrating! |

We were behind this newly wedded couple, almost the entire way home. They were obviously heading to Lake Tahoe for their honeymoon. What an excellent way to begin the year! |
|
This was a phenomenon we were not used to. It was 2:30 PM and there was bumper-to-bumper traffic leaving Tahoe, from town, all the way to Placerville (60 miles). Big lesson for anyone visiting- either leave early or stay an extra day. It was smooth sailing into town for us. Those honeymooners planned it right. Happy New Year to all! |
