Bocce in Bijou Pines

Every Tuesday night in Summer, our neighbors gather for not only the camaraderie but also for the wonderful opportunity to play Bocce.

Bocce is a lawn bowling game of Italian origin, played with heavy balls and a target ball called a pallino. The goal is to roll or toss your balls closer to the pallino than your opponent. It's a game for all ages and abilities... thank goodness.
It's been a few years since we played but Steve and I won our match. Woohoo.

Part of the charm of the evening is the shared treats everyone brings.

Many of the people in attendance are those who have owned their cabins for generations. Socializing with them is like a local history lesson. It's a treasured part of this amazing gathering.
"Bocce:
Where friendly competition meets good company,
and every roll is a chance to connect."
