Tea Time with Lynne...
While planning our upcoming travel agenda, I tried to squeeze in a tea time with Steve. His response was, "It's lost on me. You should ask Lynne to go with you!" Hence today's trip to Escondido's The Grand Tea Room. It was just what I hoped for!
“The mere chink of cups and saucers
tunes the mind to happy repose.”
– George Gissing
“The tea session is modeled after the silence of retreat;
a time to enjoy life far removed from daily existence.”
– Sen Joo
We had the Grand Tea: Soup and Savory, Assorted Tea Sandwiches and Savory, Fresh Fruit, Scone with Cream, Lemon Curd and Preserves, Petite desserts, and a Freshly steeped tea of your choice. *This is a two hour tea time.
“The very act of preparing and serving tea encourages conversation.
The little spaces in time created by teatime rituals
call out to be filled with conversation.
Even the tea itself–warm and comforting
–inspires a feeling of relaxation and trust
that fosters shared confidences.”
– Emilie Barnes
