Flashback Friday: Knott's 1995

When our sons were young, we had annual passes to Knott's Berry Farm. For several Thanksgivings, we would hit the park on the way to Steve's folks' who always hosted the holiday. One year, we actually bought the official photo. What a memory evoker!

The photo cover reads, "Congratulations Partn'r! You've just braved the Timber Mountain Log Ride, one of the world's first and most beloved log flume rides. A loving tribute to California's early logging days, this classic adventure has sent more than 75 million adventure-seekers past Knott's 1880's sawmill and hard-working lumberjacks and down the flume to Timber Mountain Lake below.

California's early loggers didn't ride the logs for fun, however. Legend has it these lumberjacks, looking for some relaxation after a hard day's work, rode hollowed-out logs to the nearest settlement since they had no other means of transportation. Once in town, these hearty thrill-seekers were known to frequent establishments not unlike Knott's own Calico Saloon and Bird Cage Theater!

Thanks for making adventure memories at Knott's Berry Farm® and enjoy the rest of your day at the Friendliest Place in the West!"

So dang cool!
