Bocce & History Lessons

I love eclectic days. Don't you?

Our neighbors, Gary & Joyce, have been hosting Bocce nights for the last couple of years and this was the first time we could actually attend. Oh man, they are never going to get rid of us!

Old friends, and new, gathered in the park-like setting for an afternoon of competitive play and joyful camaraderie.

We ended our evening at Lakeview Commons for the Lake Tahoe Historical Society's first weekly history talk on the beach.

Tonight's speaker was Dave Borges, accompanied by his three brothers. The Borgeses are a very famous Tahoe family having arrived in town in 1966. They impacted the town immensely, making their own incredible history.
The topic was the history of South Lake Tahoe, with each brother sharing their area of expertise.
What a perfect location for learning about the place we love so much.
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald
