Six Hours in Tehachapi...

We are heading out for a mini road trip and our first stop is in Tehachapi to visit, too briefly, with Leslie.

Since the day was ideal for hiking and since we are still only 'outside' guests, we found a new trail and went exploring.
Scenic, peaceful, perfect.

Our destination was the Golden Hills Nature Park.

This duck's name is on the nose don't you think? The shoveler! Very cool.

After almost 12,000 steps around Tehachapi, Leslie and I had girl time on her porch. A much needed game of Scrabble was played.
How sweet that Leslie let me beat her by 50 points!
When one owns an RV, the saying is "Home is where you park it". For 40 years, Leslie, and her mom, have been like family to me and staying here really does feel like home. What a great start to this road trip!
