This project was brought to my attention and includes so much of what I love: mail, Veterans and history that I just had to share it. Please consider joining in on this campaign.

Please take the time  to write a letter or it would be even more awesome if you could ask a group (school, church, social group, family, etc.) to write letters to send a special message to a veteran. These letters will later be stamped with a special Pony Express stamp. Note these letters would not be addressed to a specific veteran. You may use your own stationery and cards or use the Pony Express provided letterheads that you can download from the website.

This year the Reno Rodeo is celebrating their 100 year anniversary - as part of this event the Pony Express is participating on Patriot Night (June 21st). The Pony Express will carry letters into the Rodeo arena and deliver them to the Veterans Coalition. These letters will later be delivered to veterans in the region. Please help us fill the mochila with lots of letters to present!

And guess what, Steve and I will dust off our cowboy hats to be there to watch it all happen.
