Okay, so I was willing to wait 32 years for the sequel to one of my favorite movies, Top Gun (even if it rated only 54% on Rotten Tomatoes). And what a great end to the wait to find out that some of the new movie Top Gun 2: Maverick is being filmed right here in Tahoe!!!
The two week long Tahoe filming, according to TMZ, is much more intense than the shooting at other locations, “with cameras suspended between trees to capture Tom booking it through the woods, and lots of military aircraft are landing at Lake Tahoe Airport for the shoot.”
Steve tried to get me into the airport but it was guarded. I did get to see 'the plane' and tons of movie equipment but alas, no Tom. The filming isn't over yet. There's hope for this cinefile!
