Sample the Sierra: What a Blast!

To officially celebrate, belatedly, our 31st wedding anniversary, we strolled to our local park for Lake Tahoe's largest farm-to-fork festival, the 9th Annual Sample the Sierra.

On a beautiful, sunny day, we meandered for hours, delighting in it all.
"Sample the Sierra brings together the South Shore's top eateries and locally sourced ingredients with the region's finest breweries, wineries and spirits. The event also features live music, local artisans and craft-makers, and the annual Sierra Chef Challenge!"
Taylor Flynn's Mountain Brews got Steve's vote for the best beer and believe me, the competition was plentiful.

The food was unique and exceptional. Everyone outdid themselves. Wow.

We both loved the Chef Challenge. Four of the top culinary talents in South Lake Tahoe cooked their little hearts out. It was a gastronomic extravaganza. This chopped-style cooking competition entertained and tantalized. Way, way cool.

One of the vendors was the über talented, Coco Foy. Steve bought me my new favorite necklace from her.
This is how we ended our day... relaxing on the lawn listening to the wonderful music of Worn Out Welcome, a South Shore string band.

This was one of those events that makes us so appreciative of all our community does. We could not have had a better day. AWESOMENESS.
