Writing and Bookmaking...
Today was one of creativity with girlfriends. It began with my writing group. The hostess, Mary Jo, chose the prompt, "Write about your heart or your sweetheart." With only five minutes to organize one's thoughts and then compose, it is sometimes a challenge.
Here's mine:
Pico Iyer said, "And if travel is like love, it is, in the end, mostly because it's a heightened state of awareness in which we are mindful, receptive, in dimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end." And how ideal it is if you are fortunate to travel with someone with whom you are having a love affair?
Quite early in our marriage, Steve and I made a commitment to include travel in our lives. We adventure well together. He finances the trips and I plan them. We are frugal, simple explorers, delighting in just being. No 'bells or whistles' are needed, just open minds and helpful guidebooks. We are mindful of the cultures before us and aware of all we are uniquely experiencing. Travel is truly like love, especially when shared with one's sweetheart.
