Scenes of Death Valley...

The first stop of our busy day was at Zabriskie Point, overlooking golden colored badlands. Instead of just gazing at them, we decided to hike the Badlands Loop, a 2.7 mile trail which meanders through the amazingly hued canyons.

No trip to Death Valley is really complete without a visit to Badwater, the lowest point in North America. It is a surreal landscape of vast salt flats found at 282 feet below sea level.

A first for us was experiencing Devil's Golf Course. Described as an immense area of rock salt eroded by wind and rain into jagged spires. So incredibly serrated that "only the devil could play golf on such rough links."

Next tour, was of Artist's Drive, again another first. This 9 mile scenic loop took us through multi-hued volcanic and sedimentary hills. Beauty was found around every bend. Breathtaking.

We then explored the Ranch at Furnace Creek. How fun it was to have drinks at the lowest golf course in the world. Yes, Death Valley is full of uniqueness, just waiting to be discovered.

 We loved their 'fire truck'.

Nighttime found us awaiting the full moon and delighting in the warm 'summer' breezes. Each time we return to this unique place, we like it even more!

So, was there only one person who had put a golf tee out with a rock on it and you found it? Or were there many? Your photo of the impending Beaver Full Moon was atmospheric.
