Joint Chiefs: A Play by Peter McDonough

I have always been a fan of live theater and tonight's performance solidified that fandom. Wow.

Valhalla Tahoe presents the World Premiere of Joint Chiefs, by Peter McDonough, at the Duke Theater at Lake Tahoe Community College. Joint Chiefs is the winner of the 2016 Word Wave One-Act Play Competition, now expanded to a full-length production. It  is the funny, heart-felt story of four Veterans, one from each branch of service, who meet regularly at the "The Joint," a local diner owned by one of their own, Mike Riggio, a former Navy cook. Everyday, they tell stories, share jokes, and give each other grief, until one day Mike seems to be acting strangely.
Without giving it all away, we were completely transported to "The Joint" with a cast who was believable, talented and relatable. So many emotions were evoked. This was one of our favorite productions in the six seasons we've been theatergoers at Valhalla. Wow!
What made it an extra special night was seeing friends who came to be part of the audience and working with Steve and Cyndy. I ♥ Tahoe so much!
