Ogling Oregon...
I might be getting a tad bit silly, after so many days of miles on the road (450 today alone).
Don't blink... that's Portland, Oregon.
Northern areas of the state were blanketed with fields of seed grass and blueberry bushes.
Did I mention how bad the fires are everywhere?
This might be the most complete view of Mount Shasta (el 14,179') I think we have ever seen. If you look hard enough, you can see the peak, which is normally enveloped in a ominous cloud. Today, it was enveloped in ominous smoke.
So California is super hot right now. The temperature reached 112°. I feel for all the firefighters. This is crazy.
Our last night on the road is at Redding's neat, vintage-y, Marina RV Park, right on the Sacramento River. Here the temperatures are almost 20° cooler- an idyllic spot to finish our Alaskan Adventure. I'll give you all the stats tomorrow. It has been quite a ride with more summer travel yet to come.
