The Survivors...filmed in Tahoe

Since 1915, over 300 films have been made in the Central Sierras, with many filmed at Lake Tahoe.  The list consists of:  For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Call of the Wild, Adventures of Lassie, The Bodyguard, The Godfather: Part II, and many, many others.

We were introduced to The Survivors by our friend, Robert, who worked on this film in 1982.  The winter scenes were filmed at Camp Richardson.  It's fun to think of Walter Matthau and Robin Williams running around the snow- covered cabins that we have stayed at in the past.

Rated 4.3 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes, it isn't a movie that should be on the top of your Netflix queue but we enjoyed it for its locale and Matthau's sweet face.

Cool! A new one for me. The movie, "Winter A Go-Go" was filmed entirely at Heavenly in the 1960's. Silly snow bunnies & dancing as young men try to open the ski resort. Great fun to see Tahoe streets and cars back in the 60's.
