Hiking Mt. Tallac...
After finishing their very interesting summers, the kids are here for a few days for Monica's first trip to Tahoe.
Today's plan was to ascend Mt. Tallac, the jewel in the crown of mountains which ring Lake Tahoe. This majestic mountain has an elevation change from 6,480' to 9,735' in 4.8 miles of rugged terrain. Incredible views persist along the entire route to the summit of this peak, which affords, without question, the best panorama in the Tahoe Sierra.
This had been a goal of Steve's since moving here (six months ago today) so I was happy when he got company eager to join him.
While very challenging, they all feel they accomplished something amazing.

What fun, there is nothing like having the kids come for a visit! Looks like it was an amazing time for sure, as it always is.
What a fun experience for Monica's first trip. She must have loved it.
So, what other hikes are on Steve's list?
Looks like fun!
