Our Independence Day in 2 Parts

We began our Nation's 250th as many in America did... with a hometown parade!

"Celebrate a historic milestone at the 4th of July Parade in South Lake Tahoe as we mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. This year's parade honors the nation's path from its founding to today, highlighting the people, moments, and values that continue to shape our country."
"Join us as we parade down Hwy 50, westbound from Ski Run Blvd, featuring floats, music, and creative displays that reflect America's story and the pride of our community. Let's come together for this once-in-a-generation Independence Day celebration in true Tahoe style."

I love this annual tradition.
While I don't attend meetings, I am a card carrying Daughter of the American Revolution.

I'm not sure how a German car says "America" but since this was my college car, I have a special attachment to VW Things!

And it is always fun to see Smokey Bear!

Cash Only Band, playing Lee Greenwood's I'm Proud to Be American made me emotional.

I absolutely loved the Lake Tahoe Historical Society's Travel Through History float.

Only in South Lake Tahoe do you see a snowplow getting cheers from the crowd.
Hysterical!
It's always a highlight to run into friends. Cyndi's biking gang is always a delight.

Okay, this was the most impressive... One huge tow truck towing six additional tow trucks towing one another. It garnered WOWs.

The afternoon was spent conducting our own neighborhood parade. There were at least 30 of us wishing all a "Happy Independence Day!"

What an amazing start to our amazing day!
