Hot August Nights in Virginia City
Virginia City once again welcomed hundreds of classic cars as the official kickoff location for the 40th anniversary of Hot August Nights and we were there.
We were there for the Show-n-Shine along historic C Street. Nearly 400 registered classic vehicles were showcased with the most amazing backdrops... The historic buildings of this city from the 1800s. The photos tell the story!
“Give a man a car; he’ll be happy for a day.
Give a man a woman; he’ll be happy for a night.
But give a man a woman who loves cars;
happy for life.”
“Automobiles have always been part of my life,
and I’m sure they always will be.
What is it about them that moves me?
The sound of a great engine,
the unity and uniqueness of an automobile’s engineering and coachwork,
the history of the company and the car, and, of course,
the sheer beauty of the thing.”
– Edward Herrmann
We ended our visit with live music beginning outdoors with Arizona Jones.
We then moseyed on over to The Bucket of Blood Saloon (1876) for cool drinks, fun music, and an opportunity to discuss all we saw and experienced.
This was the perfect end to Julie's birthday month and a fabulous last, full day together.
