Sweet, Brief Tahoe Visit

Our original travel plans did not include a stop in South Lake Tahoe, but as it turn out, we had the opportunity to spend a few days in our truly Happy Place and our friends were there to welcome us!

We awoke on Saturday to the most glorious morning, so a stroll at Rabe Meadow was a must.

On our way home, we stopped at Steve and Cyndi's to see the progress on their kitchen remodel. Since it was out of commission, cooking-wise, we invited them to dinner at our cabin.
Cyndi, who is also my hairdresser, saw the state of my bangs and tidied them up while we waited for dinner to cook. How sweet and very needed.
Sunday morning found us with Karen at Cathedral Rd leaf peeping. While we were a bit too early, for the full eye candy that can be this area in the Fall, we delighted in being in nature together.

Fallen Leaf Lake couldn't have been prettier.
Monday was spend at a leisurely lunch with Karen and Janet. I was celebrating Karen's birthday since I'm rarely in town during her birthday month. What wonderful women.
Our last friend connect was dinner and an official (and final) birthday celebration for Steve at Chris and Jan's. It was a long overdue evening of conversation, our favorite dice game, and delicious food.

We are so appreciative of all our friends (NorCal and SoCal), who, at a moment's notice, make time for us. We value them all.

“Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious
as to have friends at a distance;
they make the latitudes and longitudes.”
-Henry David Thoreau
