Oceanside’s Sunset Market
Connecting with Brady and her family, at Stone Brewery, is an exceptional way to pass an evening. But combine that with Oceanside’s Sunset Market, San Diego County's top weekly food and music street fair, and you have MAGIC.
We arrived early to secure a spot.Once everyone arrived, we took turns scoping out the culinary delights.
I trusted Brady and had a vegetarian Venezuelan arepa. This yummy 'sandwich' is a type of food made of ground maize dough fried crisp, served with accompaniments such as cheese, various meats, chicken, avocado, and plantains. Oh man, it was a great choice, though I could have eaten two (at $12 each, two is too pricey).
After everyone ate and drank to be satisfied, we strolled the Market. It was electric. What a blast.
Brady lets her almost 4 year old run around with her phone, capturing images. She has a great eye and everyone loves to pose for her. Hysterical!
A brief stop was to visit the new kid on the block, The Brick Hotel. A historical building from 1888, it features ten guest rooms, a ground-floor restaurant, rooftop bar, an outdoor café, cocktail lounge, and access to neighboring beer garden (Stone).
We had to go upstairs and ogle the view. Housed on the Brick’s 2,100-square-foot rooftop is CocoCabana, a Caribbean-style cocktail bar with its own menu of small bites. Did I mention the view? What a fantastic seaside night! AND it happens all year long. Wow.“If you want to look at the same place and see different things,
look at the same place from different perspectives!”
