Palm Springs for Friends & A Yard Sale
Our timing only allowed us to participate in one of the Fall Modernism Week activities... One we just couldn't miss.
"Looking for a fun and relaxing way to finish off the activities of Palm Springs' Modernism Week? If so, come browse through a treasure trove of vintage furniture, accessories and objets d'art at the Annual Modernism Yard Sale each year." For us, it was our opportunity to end the week in a very groovy way.The event first started as an opportunity for mid-century collectors to sell their wares. Over the years it has turned into one of the hottest FREE events during Modernism, and a fun social hub to to mingle with fellow Mid-Century aficionados.
It gave me the opportunity to mingle with my college friend Julie, and her bestie from 3rd grade, Eva. Steve dutifully fulfilled his role as paparazzo.
The customers were almost as interesting as the wares being offered.
A true highlight was being able to speak with (stalk) my favorite current artist Josh Agle. His art is signed Shag and I have blogged about him before here.
We all decided we wanted to move into the H3K Home+Design store. It has everything vintage you could ever want but it's new. A must visit when in Palm Springs. Wow.
After all that imaginary shopping ($$$$), we headed down Palm Canyon Drive to have brunch at Wilma & Frieda.
Our balcony dining made the entire morning's experience that much more magical.
There really is something magical about Palm Springs. Its sun always seems to be shining when I need its warmth most. It is a place that has everything going on or absolute calmness, whatever your heart's desire. It is a gathering of friends location, or an "I want to be alone" oasis. I truly 💙 Palm Springs.
