Spring at the Safari Park
With all ten of us together, for the first time in SoCal, heading to the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park was a must.
I saw it as the perfect opportunity to finally wear a butterfly skirt I purchased, from a thrift store, in Vancouver in 2018.
I was trying to channel Ms. Frizzle, a character from our sons' childhood. I think I did pretty well."Spring brings the perfect chance to get outdoors, spend time with family, and experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of the season! From special entertainment and culinary creations to amazing wildlife encounters like Butterfly Jungle, come make spring memories to last a lifetime!"
Flowers (and babies) were in bloom.
The birds were pretty impressive, too.
We loved seeing our boys reconnect. I'm a very happy mommy/grandma.
By the time we found our way to the gorillas, it was 84°. All of us felt like this big guy!
And as we were leaving, we ran into Bee Plus, "Everyone will want to swarm around out talented bee juggler as he shows off his amazing skills that are smooth as honey." We were truly mesmerized. What a treat. I love getting photos with characters.
It was an idyllic way for all of us to reconnect. Let the fun continue...

It looks like a beautiful day, but be honest. How bummed are you that you have to pay extra to see the butterflies! I looked forward to that every year. Maybe we would pay once in a few years when our little can remember, but it won't be a regular experience.
We are hoping to catch a bunch of butterflies at the San Juan Capistrano Mission. They have a ton of milkweed there.
Anyway, enjoy the family time!
