Many have friends who date back to childhood. I don't. Annie is my oldest friend and we bonded, instantly, at orientation for college in August of 1980.
There can be no better representation of that fine decade than this image of us. What kids. What hair.
This afternoon, she drove 64.8 miles to bring us treats from her favorite Italian deli (Cortina's). After catching up on the front porch, we strolled to the local shopping center for dinner at Spuntino's. Delizioso! Just what the doctor ordered.

We can’t have a perfect life without friends.
