After a relaxing day of playing around Tahoe, Lori and I joined Cyndi for a girls' night at Live at Lakeview. We could not have picked a better band to party with.

Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs are a New Orleans based ensemble who blend hip-hop, jazz, funk, Latin and rock into a energetic yet soulful original sound called Hip-Rock. This was the 80th of these lakeside concerts (I was at the first in 2012). We all agreed this band was one of the best!
For those who are curious, Shamarr plays the new CPT-3000-GLS-BG Blackhawk pocket trumpet. Oh man, that was some awesome brass!

With the most attendees we have seen in a long time, the energy level was off the chart! When Shamarr told the audience to "Do Your Weekend Dance" people have never danced before were dancing like crazy. It was BEYOND fabulous.


The band was talented and super fun to hang out with.


To me, this will always be one of my most favorite scenes of summer.
