The Alabama Hills Camp Out...

Located a little less than half way to our Southern California destination is the little town of Lone Pine, home to the incredible Alabama Hills.

This was our campsite for the night. Pretty spectacular.
The rock formations are like no other. Alien skull?

 Hidden beauty lurks
waiting for discovery
captured in photos.

The foliage that waits to be found is just another magical aspect of this place. Look at how small this flower is. That is a nickel to the right. Wild.
These were equally tiny and note there is a red insect within its petals.

I had to capture the beauty of this butterfly with its wings opened and closed. Nature is an amazing artist!

Human history can be found here, too.
Shark Fin, a famous climbing rock, was visible from our campsite.

What a perfect spot to call it a night.

I hope these images show why we love this place so much.

The Alabama Hills are so gorgeous. I cannot wait to get out there again. But I am not sure when it will happen!
You two are living the dream, for sure.
