Our Holiday Poem...

For those of you on our snail mail Holiday card list (there are over 130 of you), you have already received our Season's Greetings. For those of you who haven't, you can read the sentiment I enclosed (and you need to send me your address).

The Haerr Year in Review 2017

Our year began with house guests leaving on the 1st;
Right before a snowstorm that proved to be one of our worst.

While Steve was down south, working for almost three weeks;
I was home holding down the fort while havoc wreaks.

The beauty of it all was found in the deep snow pack;
With promises of pre-drought lake levels soon to be back.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the gorgeous white stuff;
Snowshoeing in its beauty, oh man we can't get enough.

The solution we found, when hit with winter blues;
Was to get off the hill for an RV road cruise.

So off we did go to get far from our snowy home;
To delightful locations away we did roam.

Death Valley (twice) for warmth and then off to see friends;
At one point it seemed our various travels had no ends.

Monarchs in Pismo, granddaughter by the Bay;
Wandering close, but also far away.

Spring's adventure was an escape to Hawaii for fun;
Hiking, exploring, and making memories in the sun.

The highlight of summer was our epic Alaska Explore;
82 days on the road with "wow" moments galore.

For 11,000 miles we discovered all there was to see;
A true dream come true for Steve and for me.

After a trip of a lifetime we came home to re-connect;
With family and friends that while gone we had to neglect.

Everything then resumed as it often does;
Volunteering, visits, life as it was.

We conclude the year with friends and family;
Awaiting our Sierra Winter happily.

Wishing you and yours a truly magical holiday season;
Fond thoughts of you are this poem's true reason.
