Burgers & Bowling in Reno...
An hour away, but world's away in atmosphere, we headed out for a day in Reno.
We began our visit to "the biggest little city in the world" as tradition dictates... by having an Awful, Awful at The Nugget. We had to fuel up for the day!
We went to be spectators of the USBC Women's Championships, at the one-of-a-kind National Bowling Stadium. This national tournament boasts nearly 100 years of tradition and today's event attracted bowlers from across the country (14 states and Bermuda).
Seventy-eight lanes of pin crashing fun! These ladies were entertaining to watch. I grew up with a bowling league mom, so there were some fond memories flooding back as I watched the teams compete.
These massive hands remain from last month's Reno Sculpture Fest. Created by Matthew Schultz, lead artist of The Pier Group, I was amazed by this fantastic piece. What a unique addition to our Reno scene and what a great day away.
