Winter A-Go-Go...

We love watching movies that were made in Tahoe and this was so vintage, we just had to see it.  Make no mistake, Winter a-Go-Go (1965) bears a title that could only have appeared in the 1960s. The Columbia Pictures release arrived mid-decade, as one of the spin-offs of the popular "Beach Party" genre of youth musicals. It's promotional line was "Ski Buffs and Ski Babes on the Go-Go in the Snow-Snow!"

This groovy film is highlighted by some gorgeous location and ski footage, shot in Heavenly Valley which is really its only redeeming quality (okay the 60's fashions, cars and dance styles were wowzers, too).

I love this description, "The majority of the running time is not hindered by plot, instead highlighting skiing scenes, music acts, and many shots of girls dancing in bikinis, girls dancing in ski outfits, and girls dancing in skimpy Santa suits."  What's not to love?
