Cutting our own Christmas Tree

Bob and Jenny joined us on our 1st Annual 'Cut your own Christmas tree' tradition.  During the holiday season the U.S. Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit offers permits for the public to select and cut holiday trees. Permits are offered to help reduce hazardous fuel materials that have built up over years of fire suppression. Removal of excessive amounts of small trees from the forest will help create a healthier forest over time.  Look at us being all helpful.  What a wonderful morning!
I love this photo of Monica carrying the tree.  It was such an incredibly fun adventure.  Hiking all over the mountain, searching for the perfect tree.
It took awhile, but we all agree on this one.
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

Your tree looks beautiful! We enjoyed meeting Kegan and Monica. Watching you tromp around the mountain, searching for "THE" tree was entertaining. And, isn't it nice to know we are helping to make a healthy forest! Enjoy. Merry Christmas!

The tree is beautiful. All that is missing is snow on the ground... but I suppose it make getting the tree that much easier!
