Great Gatsby Festival at Valhalla

This was the event I had been looking forward to with the most anticipation.  An opportunity to dress up and be in the 1920s.

I have a lot of fun playing dress up.  I discovered this dress at an estate sale, created the head piece and truly loved the outcome.
I was escorted by a very dapper fellow.
Kegan came up for the weekend and spent the evening strolling the Lake shore and gazing at the Perseid Meteor Shower.
We were volunteering for the radio murder theater production of “The Great Gadfly,” an original audience-interactive play that celebrates the Roaring Twenties’ South Shore lifestyle.  It was a clever, well done production!
Because it was radio, Matt had to do the sound effects.  This was a riot to watch.
The Grand Hall was a spectacular setting for an evening meal followed by murder.  It was interesting to watch the audience try to solve the crime.
Steve got a little "Roaring 20s" action on the side with the talented actresses in the play.  It was a very entertaining evening in a spectacular place.
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves
growing on the trees,
just as things grow in fast movies,
I had that familiar conviction
that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
-F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

How fun...how often can you, as an adult, play dress up?! Love it!
