Our last days on land...

Days #6 and #7 were spent in the Canary Islands.  Yesterday we meandered the streets of the town of Santa Cruz on Tenerife (the first 8 photos).  We marveled at the unique church architecture and the interesting items of the marketplace.  We enjoyed getting lost in this town on the island that is said to be the "Lost City of Atlantis".

Today was spent on La Palma, considered the most beautiful of the Canaries.  We strolled its historic town center and learned of those that came before and influenced the village.  I loved the "typical balconies".  It was a wonderful place to laze away the day which is exactly what was written on our agenda!

We have purposely made this trip "relaxed".  No planned excursions, just days of exploration all on our own.  It has been the perfect way to end our European adventure.  We leave the sight of land in a couple of hours.  We will not step on soil again until we reach Florida on November 12th.  I will blog later about life aboard the cruise ship and how we are spending our time at sea.

I love the balconies too, and the brilliant colors of the houses.
What a nice break you are taking from trip planning. Meandering while on vacation DOES sound relaxing.
I cannot imagine not being on land for a week. But I guess cruise ships are bigger than some islands!

Thanks for posting a picture of a butcher shoppe. Rainbows to your back means fair seas ahead. Good sailing my friends.
