Balboa Park for Joel's birthday...
Yesterday was spent in San Diego with our friends, Terry & Joel, celebrating Joel's birthday with a diverse itinerary. It began in Hillcrest eating Southern Indian food and ended with pajama wearing in public (truly my idea of a perfect night).
We said, "Buongiorno" in the House of Italy and then spent hours learning about the art and life of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, an interesting French artist whose 1890s era posters I have always loved. He said about his work, "I paint things as they are. I don't comment."
Coffee in the sculpture garden ended the afternoon.
