Our super fun Salt Lake City day...
Our Saturday began with a delicious breakfast with our niece, Jenna, in the same little diner we ate at when we were here in April. We then spent the entire day exploring this neat city together.
We began at Temple Square, Utah's most popular tourist destination. Part of its appeal lies in its accessibility: three city blocks in downtown that contains nearly 20 attractions related to Mormon pioneer history and genealogy. We strolled the gardens and then watched, Legacy: A Mormon Journey, a film produced by The Church of the Latter Day Saints which depicts the life of two recent converts from the 1830s to the 1890s. We saw this many years ago and thought it was a wonderful introduction to this religion.
Lunch was a picnic on the roof of the Public Library... truly the most amazing library I have ever been in (photos 2 and 3). I had a coffee and we all sat and people watched while Steve went back to Temple Square to see a movie about Joseph Smith. We then went on a driving tour with a stop at the Capitol building (1912). It was a thoroughly wonderful day and we are so happy to see Jenna doing great!
