LeucadiART Walk

LeucadiART Walk is the largest juried art show in North County and is a unique opportunity to support the community culture! Local residents and visitors from all over San Diego County were invited to stroll along the 101 and support fine artists, artisans, crafters and the Mainstreet businesses.

Hosted by the Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association, this beloved one-day-only Annual Event features eight Artist Plazas along a one mile stretch of N. Coast Hwy. With approx. 100 participating fine artists, sculptors, potters, photographers, printmakers and handmade crafters, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
We arrived early for awesome parking and a delightful coffee break.

I was the first to sign up for the FREE paint class hosted by Paint and Party.
Donning a bright yellow apron, and sitting before any of the other kids joined the class, I was pretty giddy.

This was the creative rendition crafted by the little girl next to me. So dang cute.
Karissa Bordin, the owner and an artist, was so fun to work with. I love my family tree. Steve is a little concerned about where I plan to showcase it. Funny stuff.
There truly was something for everyone.
We fell in love with Larry Beard's photographs. Larry is not only a nice guy, he is an award-winning and National Geographic published photographer and is renowned for his large dramatic ocean scape wall pieces. Interesting to know, he often finds himself in harm's way when capturing his stunning imagery but that doesn't stop his lifelong passion for the ocean coming through and resonating in his beautiful art pieces. WOW.

Live music on almost every block made the day that much more festive.
This year, LeucadiART Walk was proud to feature local artist Mikey Kettinger's The Flowers Project ~ an interactive art exhibit which brought together the community and JOY by allowing all attendees to spread small acts of kindness throughout the day. We were all given a rose and asked to pass it onto someone we care about. At the end of the day, we delivered ours to Steve's Mom who in turned passed it on to her visiting granddaughter. I'd say that was a successful project of JOY.

Athletic non-alcoholic beer was there keeping people feeling festive without any negative side effects. Cool.
There were so many memorable things about this day. While summer may be waning, it seems its vibe is waxing in all these little quaint little beach towns we keep exploring. I 💙 Summer.
