Tahoe for a Brief Visit...
Our plan was to come to our little cabin in the woods and stay for a while. Because of December's snowmageddon, and our inability to find ideal snow removal services, this Sierra sojourn will be way too short.
Our first stop was to see Karen and Stephen for a stroll around their neighborhood and to gather our mail (she is my personal mail collector- so sweet).While strolling, we discovered this mailbox, complete with a beer keg and tap! I suspect it makes the mail carrier smile each time he delivers.
And what about our cabin? Here is Steve scaling his own Mount Everest. Because our driveway is bermed by several feet of the needed white stuff, we have decided not to invest in getting it plowed (estimate: $250 and Steve is not sure we would even fit, once the money was invested). Our camper is over 27' and wouldn't be able to park unless perfectly plowed.
We visited the neighborhood, checked in with neighbors/friends, gathered some needed items, and made certain all was well. We then headed for our home for the next two nights: Zephyr Cove Resort Campground.
“A lake is a landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature.
It is Earth's eye;
looking into which the beholder measures
the depth of his own nature.”
- Henry David Thoreau

That sure is a lot of snow! Good thing there are so many great camping spots in Tahoe, and that they are unfilled since it is winter...
