Temecula's Chilled in the Park...

In August, while at a City sponsored concert, we learned that Temecula was going to be hosting a shindig to rival the Independence Day events that had been canceled the last two years.

"To celebrate the holiday season, join us for Chilled in the Park! This event will feature magical entertainment, an ugly sweater contest, kids' zone, and food vendors. Be sure to stick around for the festive fireworks display at 7:45 PM sharp." When I told Karen and David about it, she put it on the calendar and planned an unforgettable pre-fireworks night.
The festivities began at Cougar Winery. With its 100% Estate Italian varietals, it is a favorite and one she wanted to share with us (Steve loved the wine, I delighted in the ambiance and the company).

Dinner was back at the Vail Ranch HQ for a meal under the stars.

Then promptly at 7:45 PM the extravaganza began and we were not disappointed.
While Christmas songs filled the air, the sky was illuminated with an exceptional 15-minute-long fireworks show. WOW!

We all realized how much we've missed an evening like this. And while the title, Chilled in the Park, was apropos, we loved every moment of it. Oh, what a night!

"Fireworks had for her a direct and magical appeal.
Their attraction was more complex than that of any other form of art.
They had pattern and sequence, color and sound, brilliance and mobility;
they had suspense, surprise, and a faint hint of danger;
above all, they had the supreme quality of transience,
which puts the keenest edge on beauty
and makes it touch some spring in the heart
which more enduring excellences cannot reach."
