Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro in O'side
The Super Girl Surf Pro is the largest female surfing event in the world which offers valuable points for surfers to qualify for next year's Women’s Championship Tour.
Wanting something incredible to do on this spectacular SoCal Saturday, this was Brady's suggestion! PERFECT (and within walking distance from her condo).Established in 2007 as a showcase for women in action sports, the Super Girl Pro Series is the only large-scale all-women’s action sports, esports and lifestyle series in the world. Developed as a celebration of female strength and empowerment, the platform has grown into a series of five incredible festivals centered around providing social, athletic, cultural, educational, business, and entertainment opportunities for young women in areas where they are traditionally underrepresented.
Our first stop was atop the Oceanside Pier for a gull's eye view of the competition.
It was extra special to watch Carissa Moore compete. Carissa made history as the first female gold medalist for the shortboard surfing event at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Wow!
After watching from the pier we explored the Festival Village, an experience for all ages which included autograph signings, various vendors and activities, giveaways, contests, celebrities, skateboarding, DJs, art, hair styling, fashion, live music, fitness, dance, yoga, sustainability, seminars, speakers, great food, a beer & wine garden and so much more!
Brady, who was due for a trim, visited the Paul Mitchell booth. For a $15 donation she not only got a cute cut, she helped support breast cancer research. Cool!
After watching several heats, we better understood the dynamics of the sport and were even more impressed with the athleticism of these top competitors.
We couldn't stay all day. How fantastic would it have been to see Bethany Hamilton in action!
I loved that my sweater matched the Oceanside Fire Department trucks. Sweet!
We even had to chance to meet Malia Ward, pro surfer, reality star (one of the female contestants of ABC's 'The Ultimate Surfer'), recent USC graduate and really nice person.
We spent only a couple of hours here but it was idyllic. Friends, sunshine, the sea, and so much fun. Can a morning get much better than this?
"Every time I stand before a beautiful beach,
its waves seem to whisper to me:
If you choose the simple things
and find joy in nature’s simple treasures,
life and living need not be so hard."

So glad you and Steve could make this happen before your long Tahoe sojourn. Sunny SoCal weather at 8:30am! Amazing female athletes! Today was perfect.
