Scrabble News...

Hello, my name is Denise and I'm addicted to Scrabble and I like to win. This news announcement is going to make it a little more difficult to believe words my competitors use (you know who you are).

According to my research, the 6th edition of The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, released by Merriam-Webster last September, boasts 300 new words since it was last updated in 2014.

I find some of the new words to be rather controversial. That includes some that I thought were already in there, like zen and ew, to words you might have never heard of, like bokeh or aquafaba

How about this list:

Sheeple — (noun) people likened to sheep
Facepalm — (verb) to cover the face with the hand
Zomboid — (adjective) resembling zombies
Arancini — (plural noun) balls of cooked rice
Schneid — (noun) a series of losses
Bibimbap — (noun) a dish of cooked rice and vegetables

Hivemind — (noun) the shared ideas of a group

“She challenged me for a game of Scrabble.
I did not refuse. How could I?
It was like she was telling me –
I want to have a word with you.”
