Feira Nacional de Agricultura...

Our timing could not have been more perfect. Today we delighted in attending the 55th Annual National Agriculture Fair in the town of Santarém. This exceptional event showcases all things agricultural in Portugal.

There was something for everyone... truly!

We're pretty certain we were the only Americans attending and we loved it all.

The variety of food, and various other products, was amazing. It was wonderful to stroll and discover.
These are the coolest mop heads ever!
The Renova company claims to have the sexiest toilet paper on Earth.
This is their store- just in case there is any doubt of their 'sexiness'. Fun stuff.
This was an industrial show, too. One could have bought implements to process anything one grows. I kind of liked the wine stuff.
In addition, it was an opportunity to try different things. I actually ate a quail egg, sunny-side up, on a tiny piece of toast. Wild.
More cork making knowledge was gained, too.
Is there any better way to eat olive oil?
Did I mention how big and delicious Portuguese olives are?

Oh man, the food was scrumptious, depending on one's tastes. I loved my fava bean dish.
While fun to watch cook, the polvo was not something I chose to eat.
We did invest in the 3€ wine glass so we could sample the vintages from all over Portugal. We could not have chosen a better place in which to learn about the food and people of this wonderful country. What a perfect way to pass a Monday!
