Sea Shore, See Friends...

Our day concluded in Carlsbad, for a glorious sunset.

We stumbled upon a very 'groovy' drum circle that added a musical soundtrack to our view of the setting sun.  It was rather surreal, and at times comical (there was scarf dancing involved).
Dinner was at David and Karen's for, what has now become tradition, a delicious evening of food, wine and friends.
Luigi prepared Paglia e Fieno, Straw and Hay, a yummy pasta dish that consists of a commingling of the green and cream fettuccine noodles making our plates as beautiful as they were tasty.
Karen found an "Elf Name" generator, on facebook, so our place settings were determined by that name.  Some things hit right on.  I was totally Happy Plum-Pants tonight.
Karen's sister, Tricia, her husband, Mike and their daughter, Nic, added to the festive feeling and camaraderie.  Tradition for David and Karen is to pick a giant Christmas tree each year.  While this one, at 12' 6", isn't their biggest, poising in front of it truly made us feel in the Holiday mode.  What a great start to December.
At Christmas play and make good cheer,
For Christmas comes but once a year.
