A fabulous French experience...

If you were to tell me I would be attending an International French Film Festival
in the little town of Incline Village, I would have been a bit surprised.  What I have found, if one looks hard enough, there is an amazing variety of cultural activities all around us, without leaving the Sierra Nevada (just another answer to the question, "Why Tahoe?").

The evening began with a wonderful reception complete with French wines and desserts and then the film 2 Jours a Paris (Two Days in Paris):

Jack is a sharp, neurotic New York designer; his girlfriend Marion is a smart, cagey, French photographer. They've been together in New York for two years and are spending two days in Paris. The trip puts their relationship to the ultimate test. Delpy weaves brilliant humor with a myriad of intellectual, political and psychological musings. She takes the stereotypical French versus American debates further and deeper, playing on both truth and the often total absurdity of this complex relationship.

This comedy had hints of Woody Allen, yet enough Parisian elements that we found we enjoyed it.  Julie Delpy, the star/director/writer is very likeable and we both agreed it was a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday night.

La plus perdue de toutes les journées est celle où l'on n'a pas ri.

The most wasted of all days
is the one during which you did not laugh
.

Sounds like fun! Did Steve like it too? Or was it a chick flick?
