BirdStock: a Music Festival

October seems to be festival season for Steve and me.

Saturday found us at the ultimate neighborhood bash as BirdStock Music Festival & Artisan Market returned to Bird Rock, presented by Wayfarer Bread! "This year's event promises to be a sensory extravaganza, transforming La Jolla Boulevard into a vibrant hub of music, art, and community spirit."
We began the morning by supporting the main sponsor, Wayfarer Bread.
This bread and pasty shop is exceptional and the long lines, all day, proved that everyone else knew it, too.

I broke my 'no sweets' rule for their almond croissant. If I was going to be bad at least it was for something so good. It's a contender for the best so far!
This was a small town village event. When was the last time you saw a dunking booth? Later in the afternoon, the guy who wore a Dodgers' t-shirt was a very popular target. Go Padres!

From merchant raffles and sidewalk sales to dance performances and a lively beer garden, BirdStock offerd something for everyone. This wasn't just a festival—it was a celebration of Bird Rock's unique charm and a fundraiser for Bird Rock Elementary School.
A highlight was hanging out with Steve's cousin, Roger, whose kids attended Bird Rock Elementary School. It was a fun afternoon spent with family in the glorious sunshine. What's not to love?!
