A Slow Safari Park Stroll
We met our granddaughters, and their parents, for a day of child sized (speed) fun. While we didn't see and do as much as we normally would have, the slower pace, along with the giggles, was a fabulous way to spend our morning.
We began our visit with a meander through the Wings of the World Aviary.
Each visit reveals something special.
The ultimate destination was Walkabout Australia to ogle all the new joeys.
I will never tire of seeing pieces parts poking out of pouches. Wild.
In Bonsai Pavilion we were given a pruning lesson from a volunteer. How absolutely amazing.
I love this description, "Bonsai: The Haiku of the tree world."
Next stop was a fruitful search for the elusive Tree Kangaroo. So dang cute.
Condor Ridge offers gorgeous vistas and its namesake, a bird whose face only its momma could love.
Give me a burrowing owl any day.
The Tiger Trail did not disappoint.
Last stop was the Petting Kraal. As a child (grandma) you can only admire animals from a distance for so long. The planners of the Safari Park were smart.
I wish I had a gif of this little guy scratching his belly, back and forth, on the fence. Hysterical!
The provided grooming brushes were a huge hit as was the ability to just love on whomever would allow you to.
Having annual passes takes the stress off of feeling like you have to get "your money's worth". What a delightful way to start our day.
